The nursery began as a back yard hobby of Evie's, having collected plants over the years they became part of the garden and bore seeds which became the first nursery. Over the past 35 years this has expanded into a myriad of horticultural varieties. Soon enough Evie exhausted the space at the Malindi site and expanded to the 25 acre Gedi nursery. Which now comprises of 12 acres of nurseries and gardens plus 13 acres of indigenous forest. Over the low season at the coast, Evie started landscaping in Nairobi which evolved into a third nursery in Langata. Having nurseries both in Nairobi and Malindi allows for a rich variety available for landscaping.

Over the recent few year the Malindi site has become more of a show garden than a nursery, providing seed and an example of mature specimens of the available plants.

Gedi Nursery
Gedi nursery is the power house of the company having well over 500 species and 50,000 plants. The nursery is situated two km from the main Mombasa Malindi road, beneath Jimba Hill in a quiet location well away from harsh ocean winds providing the perfect micro climate for growing tropical plants.

Up Country Nursery
Water wise gardening due to severe water restrictions has evolved the natural selection of species grown by Malindi Tropical Nurseries up country branch. Thus resulting in a contrast from succulents and Mediterranean species to the ever popular tropical plants.
